The mission of The Gary J. Lynn Foundation is to improve the quality of life for people with Cerebral Palsy. I have been very fortunate throughout my life to be surrounded by people who love me for who I am. People who know me realize that being in a wheelchair will never stop me from reaching my fullest potential in life. I am an obsessive sports fan and also take a great interest in politics. Knowing what is going on in the world is very important to me.
Since so many wonderful people have come into my life and have helped me to meet some of my greatest heroes I felt it was time to do something in return. I then decided to create my foundation to raise funds for the research and cure of Cerebral Palsy. The funds will be going directly to Dr. Mindy Aisen, the CEO of research and education for CP.
My first fundraising event will be The Gary J. Lynn “Rid The World Of Cerebral Palsy" Golf Tournament. The tournament will take place in Houston, Texas on September 9, 2008 at 8:30am tee off at Wildcat Golf Club. Dr. Aisen will be attending the golf tournament.
Hopefully, with continuous research being done there will be a day that no child will be in a wheelchair and every child will be able to speak.
I do not want to be just a boy in a wheelchair. I want to be known as someone who helped make a difference in the lives of other people.
As the great Winston Churchill once said ”Never give in, never give in, never, never, never.”
